I believe you could build a house from scratch based on this manual. If you just want to know how to fix up the occasional thing that goes wrong - small repairs, stains, mildew etc - then this book might be too much for you and you might be better off with When Duct Tape Just Isn't Enough, also from Popular Mechanics.
